Terms of Use

Last updated: May 30, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Owemint. By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. Owemint is a personal, local-first debt tracking tool for individual record-keeping. It helps you track amounts owed to you, amounts you owe to others, and related dates, notes, and photo attachments. The App does not provide financial, legal, tax, accounting, or professional advice. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, checking record accuracy, and using reminders lawfully.

The App is designed as a local-first tool, and core features like creating records, updating balances, viewing history, and reminders work offline. The App uses the internet only for specific, limited services: validating Pro purchases via RevenueCat and sending anonymous crash reports and performance diagnostics via Sentry to help us improve app stability. On supported Apple devices, files stored in the App's document container may be accessible through the Files app or Finder file sharing. This local access is provided by your device, and the App does not upload those files to our servers.

Permissions are requested only for features you choose to use. If you enable notifications, we schedule local reminders based on your settings. The App is fully usable if notifications are disabled. If you choose to enable the app-lock, authentication checks are performed through your device's security systems. If you choose to attach photos or files to your records, media permissions are used only to store those attachments, and the App remains fully functional without them.

Owemint Pro is sold as a one-time in-app purchase (non-consumable lifetime unlock) processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat is used as our purchase-management layer to validate purchase status, manage entitlements, and support restore-purchase flows. We do not directly process or store your payment card details. Pricing, taxes, refunds, and terms are governed by platform store policies, and refunds must be requested through them. Restoring purchases requires the same store account used to buy the product. Pro access may be limited or revoked if a transaction is reversed, refunded, or canceled. Platform terms can be reviewed at RevenueCat Privacy Policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/) and Terms (https://www.revenuecat.com/terms), Google Play Terms (https://play.google.com/intl/en_us/about/play-terms/) and Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), and Apple Media Services Terms (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/) and Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). If you download the App through the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/).

We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App at any time. If these Terms change, this page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of Owemint after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. While we are committed to taking reasonable steps to preserve your data and support backward-compatible updates, we cannot guarantee that every update, device swap, backup, or operating system change will be free from data loss or corruption. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for the loss, corruption, unavailability, or inaccessibility of data stored locally on your device. We are also not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. For questions, you can contact us at [email protected].
